This from Jay Kornegay, executive director of the Las Vegas Hilton SuperBook: “This on one side it was only a matter of time. On the other side, most people were expecting Dallas then Green Bay when the New York Giants decided to crash the party. It’s Super Bowl XLII (if not Super Bowl we can use the NFL championship) and it’s down to the undefeated New England Patriots and the New York Giants. The Las Vegas Hilton SuperBook opened the big game with the Patriots a 14 point favorite. All the early money has come in on the surprising Giants and the latest line is now down to 12. The SuperBook also has posted approximately 300 different propositions on the game. Propositions are know as the ‘game within the game.’ These are events the patrons can bet on during the course of the game.”
