Ventriloquist Terry Fator no sooner became the new million dollar winner on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent,” then he announced he will be performing at the Las Vegas Hilton in the Hilton Theater October 14 at 6 p.m. along with special guest Bobby Badfingers. No sooner was the announcement made then the show was sold out. The Scintas, the Buffalo, New York foursome who seven years ago won the heart of Las Vegas, will debut their new show, “Laugh Out Loud with The Scintas,”at the Las Vegas Hilton September 24. The fresh production is the result of a new collaboration that brings together a contemporary European approach from ASIENT Entertainment and principals Andy Walmsley and Steve Parker and the Scintas. ASIENT matched with the tremendous talents of Las Vegas’ leading group of entertainers. Showtimes are Friday-Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. with a matinee on Monday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $49.99 and 64.99 (plus tax and service charge). Barry Manilow, prior to his return headlining at the Las Vegas Hilton September 25-29, will be all over the tube promoting his new album, The Greatest Songs of the Seventies. Here are the dates and TV shows: Sept. 10, “The Insider”; September 17, “Today Show”; Sept. 18, “The Colbert Report”; Sept.19, “The Early Show”; and Sept. 20, “The Martha Stewart Show.”
Andrea Adams, who sings with the Sunset Strip band at the Las Vegas Hilton (Tuesday - Saturdays 9:30 p.m.-1:30 a.m.) is featured in a full-page spread in the September issue of Vegas. Her favorite song to get the crowd going?: “No matter what, they always love ‘Lady Marmalade.’”
The Las Vegas Hilton kicks off its weekly Football Central party September 9 at 9 a.m. in the smoke-free Hilton Theater with games on 11 giant screens, the featured game on a 15’ X 20’ HDTV with state-of-the-art theater sound, a Ford Mustang giveaway provided by Gaudin Ford, weekly and monthly drawings, and food and drink specials. The Hilton’s SuperBook offers additional viewing on its own giant screens. Football Central also will feature the Miller Girls and the Las Vegas Vodka Girls, weekly drawings, monthly drawings (Pro Bowl trips to Hawaii, courtesy of Miller Beer and Southwest Airlines tickets) and a featured drawing will be “Beer for a Year” courtesy of Miller Beer. Food and drink specials, including $1 hot dogs and $1 Miller beer, will be featured in the Hilton Theater
The Las Vegas Hilton’s new Superbook Deli will open this Friday (September 7) at 8 a.m. The Deli replaces Vegas Subs and is sandwiched (pardon the pun) between the slot tournament area and the Eighth Pole Bar. A small breakfast offering will be available 8- 11 a.m. daily. From 11 a.m – 10 p.m., the Deli will provide a large variety of high quality sandwiches made only with Dietz & Watson premium deli meats and crafted artesian cheeses as well as a variety of cool salads, snacks and dessert treats, offering something for every customer’s taste.
The $75,000 “Autumn Action” Slot Tournament at the Las Vegas Hilton, September 21-22, features a four-day, three night stay, one entry into the tournament, and two tickets to the awards banquet. Entry fee is $799. First-place prize is $30,000. For more information, call 1-800-457-3307.
The Las Vegas Hilton recently awarded four-year college scholarships to four children of employees in a special luncheon at the resort. The Las Vegas Hilton Scholarship Program has been a tradition at the property, and since the Hilton’s purchase by Colony Resorts in 2004, more than $70,000 in scholarships have been awarded. Scholarships this year were awarded to Salvador Alejo, son of Salvador Alejo from the Food and Beverage Department; Stephanie Houle, daughter of Brian Houle from the Engineering Department; Allisondra LeClair, daughter of Lisa LeClair, from the Food and Beverage Department; and Adriana Pascoe, daughter of Alejandrina Castaneda, from the Beverage Department.
