Long-time employees of the Las Vegas Hilton are being honored at a Service Awards banquet Thursday night at the classic resort. There are plenty of 5, 10, 15, and 20-year employees who will be recognized but also consider these statistics: There are 112, 25 –year employees; 71, 30-year employees; 43, 35-year employees and one employee who has worked at the Las Vegas Hilton for 40 years. That employee is Mary Ogas, food and beverage cashier.
The Las Vegas Hilton will soon be home to the SuperBook Deli, located in the heart of the action, the Hilton SuperBook. The menu will feature overstuffed sandwiches and the ultimate foot-long Chicago hot dog. Any odds on finishing one of those dogs at one sitting?
The Teru Sushi bar at the Las Vegas Hilton (in Benihana Village), home to authentic sushi, will soon feature additional menu items, and the Noodle Bar (also located in Benihana Village will soon have an expanded menu.
After that fantastic finish at the British Open, the Las Vegas Hilton SuperBook didn’t waste anytime posting the odds for the final golf major of the year. The PGA Championship will be played August 9-12 at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Who else would be favored? Yes, that Tiger Woods again is the favorite to host the trophy at 3-1 despite his 12th place finish in Scotland. Other contenders include; Phil Mickelson and Jim Furyk both at 15-1, Ernie Els 20-1, British Open champion Padraig Harrington 30-1, and local product Ryan Moore at 150-1. LaBella Wedding Chapel has (in addition to the main chapel on the lobby floor of the Las Vegas Hilton) an outdoor gazebo in the pool area for exchanging marriage vows.
