Barry Manilow, who headlines at the Las Vegas Hilton, was recently profiled in Image Magazine. He talks about his home in Palm Springs as a haven from his hectic schedule: “It was this busy lifestyle that eventually brought him to quiet Palm Springs. He often tells people, ‘It's my place to call home and get away from those hotel rooms and those small bars of soap.’ Barry hasn't slowed down in the desert, though. He consistently devotes his time to benefits for local charities and seems to be always available to help out on projects where he can do some good.” Barry performs at the Las Vegas Hilton June 26-30, July 17-21, and 25-28.

MUSIC, POOL, FUN-IT’S SUMMERTIME!
The Las Vegas Hilton just launched its “Sounds of Summer Concert Series” with a June-September schedule of headliners from Diana Krall to Smash Mouth to Brooks & Dunn in the Hilton Theater. Also featured: a “Cool by the Pool” happy hour with entertainment seven days a week (5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.) with local favorites Tommy Rocker on Mondays; Kenny Owens on Tuesdays; and Lenny Albanese, Wednesdays through Sundays, sponsored by Fosters and Angostura Caribbean Club. Plus spa specials and tennis clinics at the Hilton’s third-floor swimming pool to round out the summer fun.

MEDAS WELL PRESERVED
Glenn Medas, president of the entertainment company, TPG, and Producer of Sunset Strip (which performs in the Shimmer Cabaret at the Las Vegas Hilton Wednesdays - Saturdays 10:00 p.m.-1:30 a.m., Tuesdays 11:30 p.m.-1:30 a.m) has been working closely with the exciting new project, Springs Preserve of Las Vegas. Glenn acted as booking agent for the Preserve and their upcoming Fall and Spring Concert Series, to be held in its 2,000- person Crossroads Commons Amphitheater.

OUT-OF-TOWN CRITICS TO SEE MENOPAUSE
The American Theatre Critics Association's first conference in Las Vegas takes place next week, and on the agenda for many of the members is a performance of Menopause the Musical at the Las Vegas Hilton. The popular production is presented Mondays. & Tuesdays, Thursdays & Fridays 7:00 p.m., Wednesdays 2:00 p.m. & 7:00 p.m., Saturdays & Sundays 4:00 p.m. & 7:00 p.m.

Cruz Alberto Gonzalez De La Rosa from Guatemala was playing the Bally's QuarterMillions at the Las Vegas Hilton on Friday when he hit the jackpot, winning $308,114.33.

A PENNY FOR YOUR TEMPO
Fourteen penny slots (six of them five-level progressives) have been installed near the Tempo Lounge of the Las Vegas Hilton. The Tempo Lounge features 100 lounge seats (and 33 bar seats with video poker machines) along with table games and a private area in the rear portion.

COACHING TIME AT HILTON
The Monaco Coach, one of the fastest-growing manufacturers in today’s recreational vehicle market and the largest manufacturer of Class A motor homes, is holding its first convention at the Las Vegas Hilton June 17-20. The convention includes the unveiling of next year’s RV models and The Monaco Coach Elite Customer Service Awards, based on the past 12 months’ owner satisfaction surveys.
