For dog lovers, there’s a Barry t-shirt for their canines. For humans, there’s a bling shirt, a fleece blanket, and boas. Hours: 10 a.m.-11 p.m. daily.
Joe Piscopo, who headlines in Shimmer Cabaret at the Las Vegas Hilton (Sundays -Tuesdays at 9:30 p.m.) with Vincent Falcone and his sextet, established Avellino Productions two years ago and currently is working on “Joey Benefit,” an independent feature film based on a character who can’t say no to performing at any charity.

March Madness is getting ready for it close-up, and the Las Vegas Hilton, following up on the success of its “Football Central,” has put together “Hoops Central.” The first day of action begins on Thursday, March 15 in the Hilton’s SuperBook. Then it’s free admission to the Hilton Center on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, March 16-18, where 65 teams compete on four giant screens. Doors open at 9 a.m. each day.
The Cuisine Club of Las Vegas has presented “The Award of Excellence” to Andiamo at the Las Vegas Hilton. Valentina Columbo, Chef de Cuisine of the club, made the presentation following a dinner by club members at the restaurant. Andiamo, which just celebrated its 20-year anniversary, now sports a new name: Casa Nicola. It features an enhanced menu and will continue featuring authentic flavors of Italy.

Casino industry veteran Julius Taylor has joined the Las Vegas Hilton as its new director of housekeeping services. Taylor’s extensive background in hotel operations (most recently at the Isle of Capri Casino in Lake Charles, Louisiana) includes the Tropicana and Circus-Circus in Las Vegas.
Las Vegas Hilton employees are forming a team to ride in the Tour de Cure, the American Diabetes Association cycling fund-raising event on April 14. The Tour is a ride, not a race, with routes designed for everyone from the occasional rider to the experienced cyclist. Thousands of individual riders and teams have participated to support the Association's mission: to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. More than 20 million Americans suffer from this deadly disease. The Tour de Cure begins at the Henderson Events Center.
The pool bar at the Las Vegas Hilton swimming pool, Located on the resort’s third floor rooftop, has officially opened. Daily hours: 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Guests who lounge around the pool may rent a cabana for a full or half day. Each cabana includes two padded chaise lounges, telephone, plasma television, dining area and refrigerator containing water, juices and sodas.
The National Child Care Association (NCAA) Leadership Conference 2007, which is meeting at the Las Vegas Hilton, March 24-25, is a professional trade association focused exclusively on the needs of licensed, private childhood care and education programs. The organization represents the specific interests of the licensed, private community.
